Even a child’s game can change a life.
Inspired by true events, the film recounts the story of an untraditional family of children. Little Jarka’s mom is not ready for motherhood. But Jarka discovers the love she desperately wants by chance when, under strange circumstances, she takes two toddlers to a deserted garden hut. Her deed is a moving and genuinely childlike attempt to fix the adult world through playing the family she wishes to have. Little Harbour is director Iveta Grófová’s second feature film and is based on a book of the same name by Monika Kompaníková; the novel received the Slovak 2010 Book of the Year award.
Awards: IFF Berlinale 2016: Crystal Bear (section Generation Kplus).
